The Bhadrakali Temple (also known as Savitri Peeth) is located in Kurukshetra, Haryana. It is the eighteenth Astadasa Shakti Peeth where Goddess Sati's right ankle fell. The temple is built of red bricks and stone, dedicated to Goddess Bhadrakali. Kurukshetra is historically famous as the battlefield of the Mahabharata war and the place where Lord Krishna delivered the Bhagavad Gita.

"Goddess Sati's right ankle fell here. Before starting the Mahabharata war, Lord Krishna and the Pandavas performed puja to Goddess Bhadrakali here, and offered their horses to seek victory. Since then, devotees offer clay horses to the goddess when their wishes are fulfilled."
